Whenever you tell people that you’re driving from Texas to Canada, the overwhelming reaction tends to be eye bulges and disbelief.Read More
Does anyone else feel like the older we get birthdays become sort of anti-climactic?Read More

By this point, you all know how I feel about the sweaty, oppressive heat of summer. Not a huge fan, okay?Read More
This post will no doubt have blood spurting out of Jimmy's ears.
Why? You ask. Well my decade-long hunt for the perfect planner sends him into a tailspin. It probably has to do with the amount of money I spend on each one, and the fact that I can't remember the last time I began and ended a year with the same planner.Read More
This past weekend, I was #blessed enough to go to CABO WABO! Read More

I sat down to write a witty and thought provoking post this week, but I'm struggling.
Last week, I finished reading through the first draft of my novel. AGH! This week, I am editing and revising scenes and trying to make it great. It's a terrifyingly exciting and nauseating experience.Read More
Happy Monday, lovely readers!
How was your weekend? If you didn't know, but I'm sure you probably did, Saturday was Earth Day! And it was unusually chilly here in Dallas. We had a big storm come through Friday night that brought with it a cold front.Read More
How was everyone's Easter? It was a beautiful and sunny weekend here in Dallas, not too hot, just right. Jimmy's mom offered to come over and help us plant some flowers and clean up our backyard.Read More

Ohh, chello there. Happy warmer weather days, Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy bunny and chocolate eating. Is it just me, or do Reese's Peanut Butter Cups taste better shaped as an egg? They do, I don't know why I asked. We have entered into my second favorite time of the year.Read More
Last week I watched (binged) a new show on Netflix called 13 Reasons Why based off the book (with the same title) by Jay Asher. It tells the story of Hannah, a seventeen-year-old girl, who we learn in the first episode has committed suicide. She’s left thirteen tapes for thirteen different people explaining why and how she came to the decision to end her life. This is Hannah’s story, but it’s also the story of Clay, the boy who loved her but didn’t know how to show it, it’s the story of vicious bullies, and adults out of their depth. It’s a shining light on aspects of life that happen every day. It’s also a story about depression and mental health. The show takes an honest and graphic look at teen suicide and its aftermath, and it’ll knock the breath right out of you.Read More
Do you ever feel like you've lost like a month of your life? That when you're sick you get sucked into a dark vortex? And when you emerge on the other side you think "WTF just happened?" Well that was my last week. I got cellulitis in my eye (gross. I mean who gets that?), and it went from bad to worse.Read More
I should probably start this post with a WARNING.
I'm writing it because I believe it will be cathartic, when really I'd prefer to be fetal positioning it somewhere with a box of wine. Yeah, I said box. But like a classy box, I haven't totally lost it. I'll start with the good and end with the bad. That's nice of me, eh?Read More
I personally think the Texas summers are an insult. I might have even panicked a little bit this weekend when the temperature reached high eighties, agh! BUT, I know a lot of you are smiling wide, stretching your arms up toward that bright blue sky, dusting off last years shorts, and welcoming the warmer days to come.Read More
This past weekend, after many hours of St. Patty's Day fun, I came to the realization that sometimes I really hate my body. My feet were tired, my mind was happy, and if I'm being honest, I was a little bit tipsy. We sat down in a restaurant and I watched some of my friends share a deliciously cheesy pizza and another friend eat a yummy looking sandwich on fluffy, fluffy bread.Read More
