And So It Begins...

Hi, my name is Kelly and welcome to my blog! I am new to the world of blogging, but I hope to use these posts as ways to chat, laugh, vent, learn, and share parts of my life with you. My tag line pretty much sums up the premise of this blog. I want to talk about my life, the happy and the hard, and also write about the books I am reading.

My life: I am a pediatric oncology nurse in Dallas. I started this job in December 2014, although I have a been a nurse since 2010. I took the hard way in figuring out what I really wanted to do (we will save that story for a blog post though). I have been married to my romantic goof ball of a husband, Jimmy for two years this June. We are having a blast together. We have a fur baby named Gus. He is a great dane and the most cuddly, anxious, nut case out there but I frigging love that dog. Gus turned three this past November. In June I turn 27 (eek) and Jimmy and I have started the process talking about having kids (double eek). Also more to come on that topic. Its pretty scary but also crazy exciting. Soon I will share some exciting family news on the same subject!

Books: Call me a nerd but books and reading are a huge part of my life. There is nothing I love more than getting lost in a story. The characters, story line, history, language... all of it just sucks me in and I am gone. Now don't get me wrong, I've started books that I can't finish. I get bored with some just like everybody else. There are certain genres I gravitate to, but I love to branch out and see what else is out there. All of that being said, I would also like to use this blog to give reviews on the latest books I am reading and some of my favorites I have read in the past. These reviews won't be stuffy or overdone, just my thoughts. I am also open to (and interested in) getting recommendations for books from you guys. Let me know a good book and I will read it and let you know what I think!

So there it is... welcome to my world! I probably won't always use proper punctuation or grammar, sorry not sorry.

Thanks for visiting!
