How was everyone's Easter? It was a beautiful and sunny weekend here in Dallas, not too hot, just right. Jimmy's mom offered to come over and help us plant some flowers and clean up our backyard. It was something I knew we needed to do, but to be honest, I was dreading it. But luckily, gardening is Marilyn's therapy. She loves it and is really good at it.
We got A LOT done this past Saturday. The Lowes by our house has a great gardening department, so we hit that up and filled our carts. Then we got to work.
...hopefully I don't kill all of this come summer...
Check it out!
A before pic...
Another before...
This used to be a vegetable garden and I'm not proud to say that I let it go to disarray and look like this... eek. Before.
Pretty hanging baskets.. just waiting for the birdies to find their food!
Flowers in a foot. Boom.
Thank you for our beautiful flower bed, Marilyn!!
Ermagersh!! It's a Moosey with a Mushroom.
Looks so much better! Woot!
Sleepy Gnome!
Cleaned out! Tomatoes, cucumber, onions!
There ya have it! After everything was cleaned up and our mud-caked knees were washed off, I was so glad we got it done. It's incredibly nice to take something cruddy and make it beautiful.
How was everyone else's Easter weekend? What did you do? Did you have a good time?
Until next time,
Kelly
