This past weekend, I was #blessed enough to go to CABO WABO!
Boom shaka-laka. I’ve been to Mexico twice before, both great trips with slightly disastrous exits from the country (I AM the black cloud of travel), but I’d never been to Cabo.
The trip was for my bestie Caitlin’s bachelorette party, and we had a blast! We stayed at the Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort. The resort is northeast of the town of Cabo, and away from the craziness. I guess we are all old souls, though, because it didn’t bother any of us. The food at the resort was delicious, the place was spotless, we had a swim out balcony, and the pools were uncrowded. There was also a swim up bar! I mean what’s worse than dragging yourself out of the pool, squeezing the excess water from the misshapen bra-pads of the bathing suit, and thigh chafing your way to the outside bar?
My pale ass did get extremely burnt though. I’m kind of annoyed because I reapplied, but when you’re translucent, I guess not much helps. I did only have SPF 30. I think I need at least 50 or 250, whichever. Oh well, nothing a little aloe won’t fix (ha, sure). But seriously, wear sunscreen people. Don’t take after me. I’m a horrible influence.
It was a wonderful trip! I’ve known most of these girls since Baylor, over a decade now! (Yeeshk) I love that we’ve kept our friendships strong, even though we don’t get to see one another near enough. And I love the man Caitlin is marrying! Austin is kind, hilarious, thoughtful, and I couldn’t ask for a better guy for her. Can’t wait for the wedding in July!
If anyone is thinking about going to Cabo, I highly recommend the resort we stayed at. I don’t have a single, bad thing to say about it.
Enjoy the pics, and below them are some things that made the trip even better!
Deadline by Sandra Brown
Everyone needs a beach book, right? I discovered Sandra Brown about a year ago, but she has many, many books to her name. And I've like-loved all of them. She writes a good suspenseful mystery/thriller with a slightly steamy romance. Each book of hers always keeps me coming back for more!
This song, I love!
A song can get you through just about anything. The screaming child attached to the apologetic, exhausted mom a couple of rows in front of you. The sneezing, coughing person beside you. This song has been playing on repeat for me this past week!
That bathing suit I mentioned not so long ago...
So, I found a bathing suit, and I liked it when I tried it on. But that doesn't always translate well to a pool situation. BUT, it did! I'm all about the one pieces these days, but sometimes it's hard to find one that isn't frumpy or circa 1920s. So, I jumped a couple decades forward and bought this one. It was comfortable, flattering, it's well made, and my bubbies stayed in place. Yes, it's low cut, but there is more than enough fabric to cover everything. I never felt like I was falling out of it, so success. Granted, due to the deep cut of it, I now have a rectangular burn nearly down to my hoo-hah, but I still deem the suit a win. And yes, I bought it off Amazon. They're taking over the world.
Alrighty then, that seems to be about it. I'd tag some sunscreen, but clearly the brand I bought was sprayable Crisco.
Has anyone else been to Cabo? What did you think? I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
Until next time,
